Practicing with Foothills since 1999 Amy Herter is a licensed marriage family therapist whose calm gentle demeanor fosters a greater sense of self worth and allows clients to address their issues. Amy Herter has experience with clients of all ages and a wide range of specialties. Amy Herter’s previous experience involves working with adults in inpatient facilities diagnosed with schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders as well as working with adults hospitalized for chronic pain or medical illness. Amy Herter especially enjoys working with oppositional adolescents and their families. Amy Herter provides play therapy for children using directive and nondirective techniques.
Amy Herter is a professional member of the Trichotillomania Leaning Center and completed professional training for trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling) and compulsive skin picking. Amy Herter remains up to date on the latest research and information regarding trichotillomania and compulsive skin picking.
